Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Ryder in Akron, OH. As a Diesel Mechanic Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
  • Perform advanced skilled level repairs, including major engine repairs, diesel after-treatment, and automotive fuel injection repairs
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint
  • Coach and mentor other technicians on maintenance and repair procedures
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
Benefits:
  • Average weekly pay: $1260
  • Hourly pay: $33.50 per hour
  • Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter - four times per year
  • Sign-on bonus: Ryder pays $3500 at 30 days and $3500 at 90 days
Work Schedule:

Second shift, Tuesday - Saturday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
