As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping and executing the Test Program for a cutting-edge Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS). We are looking for skilled UAS Test Pilots, Safety Test Pilots, and Test Engineers to facilitate the testing and operational deployment of SNC's innovative UAS solutions worldwide. Your responsibilities will include developing comprehensive test protocols, pinpointing critical test activities and milestones, ensuring the safe operation of UAS, and verifying compliance with established requirements. You will collaborate with various engineering teams to identify and rectify design issues and deficiencies.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) division is dedicated to delivering cost-effective, integrated command/control, communication, and security solutions on a global scale. Our MST team boasts a rich history of supporting governmental and commercial clients, leveraging extensive experience in platform operations, engineering, and lifecycle management across multiple domains, including air, land, sea, space, and cyber.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct UAS flight testing
  • Document and analyze test outcomes
  • Lead and manage UAS test initiatives
  • Design and formulate test procedures
  • Guarantee safe UAS operations
  • Collaborate with diverse engineering disciplines
  • Engage in the design, development, and evaluation of prototype UAS systems, encompassing both hardware and software
  • Create test protocols to validate and confirm the functionality and performance of UAS systems and their components
  • Execute validation and verification tests, analyze data, and compile reports to demonstrate adherence to project goals

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, typically accompanied by 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Advanced knowledge of requirements management, system design, and systems integration
  • Proven experience in planning, executing, and documenting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities
  • Familiarity with Unmanned Systems test programs
  • Experience in developing and implementing flight test plans
  • Proficiency in Unmanned Systems flight operations
  • Willingness to adapt to flexible schedules and travel as needed
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of UAS operations within the National Airspace and relevant regulations; current FAA 107 RPIC certification
  • Private Pilot license with FAA Class 3 medical certification
  • Experience as a UAS Flight Instructor (minimum of 3-5 years) providing training to flight test engineers and operators
  • Prior experience in UAS flight testing (as an Engineer or Operator), including hands-on experience with small to medium-sized UAS in manual mode (fixed wing, HVTOL, or rotary wing)
  • Demonstrated expertise in flight test operations, including pre-flight checks, data collection, and post-flight analysis
