Job Title: BAS Controls Technician

CORG Management Group is seeking a skilled BAS Controls Technician to join our team in Columbia, SC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, programming, and maintaining direct digital controls (DDC) and associated devices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, program, and maintain DDC systems, including repair and troubleshooting.
  • Modify DDC programming to streamline sub-routines and energy savings.
  • Ensure compliance with energy conservation, temperature, and building environmental policies.
  • Integrate multiple DDC control systems, including proprietary, BACNET, LONWORKS, MODBUS, and TCP/IP.
  • Monitor DDC control points.
  • Work with systems that include air compressors, pumps, motors, valves, dampers, and portable air conditioning systems.
  • Service and/or maintain building automation systems.
  • Provide exemplary service to BAS service clients assigned to you.
  • Troubleshoot and system analysis on all types of HVAC and process control, including VAV systems, hydronic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Respond to emergency service calls in a timely manner.
  • Assist with startup, commission, and re-commission of customer systems that utilize pneumatic/electrical/electronic technology.
  • Maintain accurate As-Built drawing packages and make changes in Visio, Excel, and/or Word as required.
  • Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals, and/or a laptop computer.
  • Assist in static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) commissioning of software programming.
  • Assist in the set-up of operator workstations with all associated software.
  • Perform job database backups on a regular basis.
  • Complete paperwork on time, including timesheets, expense reports, posting of work orders, on-site documentation, and project status reports.
Requirements:
  • Basic understanding of control logic.
  • Experience troubleshooting DDC systems, low voltage control systems, and computer networks.
  • Thorough knowledge of wired and wireless IP technology.
  • Must be personable, service-oriented, and willing to work directly with customers' on-site staff.
  • Willing to travel with the occasional overnight.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and current driver's license.
  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment in excess of 8 feet above grade and lifting items up to 50lbs.
  • Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control preferred.
  • Knowledge of the operation, repairs, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment and associated controls.
  • Prior experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, System Networking (Routers, Switches, Cabling, Configuration, VPN, FTP), Visio.
Education/Certifications:

AA/AS degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma, Skilled Trades Apprenticeship or Other post-high school training (two years duration) with minimum of 5 years' experience. Certifications a Plus in: I/NET Seveny Security System Programming, I/NET Database Designs Implementation, I/NET Database Design for MR's and ASMR's, SymmetrE C855, Honeywell Advanced Care, IPP Internetworking Professional Track, Internetworking for Workstations via LAN, WAN, Internet, IPP Advanced Internet Business Fundamentals, Business fundamentals to maintain and set up of Websites, IPP HTML Fundamentals, Basic HTML Programming, Honeywell XBS, Honeywell X1584, X1582, Honeywell CARE, Honeywell Programming Language, Tridium R2.
