Job Description

Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Advanced Engineering team. As a key member of our custom equipment development organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying innovative solutions for the Savannah River Site, DOE complex, and national security missions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop project proposals, including scope of work, schedules, and budgets.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and individually develop one-of-a-kind engineering solutions in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Design, develop, fabricate, assemble, test, calibrate, and deploy systems to meet unique complex technical challenges.
  • Deliver results in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Prepare technical manuals, reports, procedures, and invention disclosures.
  • Develop technical scopes of work, schedules, and budgets for proposed projects.
  • Track project schedules and budgets while guiding early career engineers.
  • Use SRNL systems and meet requirements with minimal supervisory guidance.
  • Develop and program PLC systems, including AI, sensor integration, and machine learning.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications: BS + 7-9 yrs; MS + 6-8 yrs; PhD + 5-7 yrs of relevant experience.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree and 6-8 years of experience.
  • Experience developing proposals.
  • Experience leading small technical teams.
  • Experience in an equipment development environment.
  • Experience developing Control Systems, Data Acquisition.
  • PLC System development and programming experience including AI, Sensor Integration, or Machine Learning.
