Job Title: Corporate Paralegal

The Corporate Paralegal will provide support to the Legal Department, focusing on intellectual property and administrative matters. This role requires a strong understanding of intellectual property law, general corporate law, and transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain domestic and foreign trademark files, patent files, and associated renewals using electronic systems and communicate with foreign trademark and patent attorneys as needed.
  • Manage a calendar of deadlines for trademarks and patents and maintain a list of pending and granted trademarks and patents.
  • Represent the Legal Department with the sales team on brand protection matters and make purchases of potential counterfeit products using company credit cards as needed.
  • Conduct searches of new product name requests from the marketing team.
  • Assist the Legal Director with escalated complaints from Customer Service related to personal injury and/or property damage complaints, maintain a complaint log, and file according to the Company's Record Retention Policy.
  • Track and record legal attorney fees/expenses on an Excel spreadsheet.
  • Maintain the file room in accordance with the Company's Record Retention Policy.
  • Provide legal and general administrative support, including editing and formatting, proofreading, copying, scanning, and recordkeeping as needed.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Paralegal Certificate or 5+ years of experience in a law firm or corporate setting.
  • Knowledge and experience in intellectual property law, general corporate law, and transactions.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
