Emory University Hospital is seeking an experienced and passionate complex medicine nurse to join our team.

About the Role

We offer an exciting opportunity to work with a high acuity and diverse patient population that is comprised of, but not limited to, acute/chronic renal failure, endocrine dysfunction, pulmonary disease, infectious disease, gastrointestinal and liver disease, dermatology disorders, congestive heart failure, multi-system failure, malnutrition, geriatric patient disorders, and conditions requiring radioactive treatments.

Responsibilities
  • Apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family.
  • Consistently communicate effectively and respectfully with the patient, the patient's family, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Deliver safe, dependable, and effective care to a patient population independently utilizing the nursing process.
  • Recognize the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes and continue to recognize own performance limitations.
  • Document the nursing process accurately and in the appropriate format.
  • Plan and implement patient care independently and utilize patient/family input and goals in planning the plan of care.
  • Evaluate patient's response to planned care and adjust the plan of care as appropriate.
  • Identify the need to revise policies and procedures for a patient population based on receipt/review of evidence-based research.
  • Delegate appropriately utilizing the Synergy model of care and recognize the roles of the interdisciplinary team, patient, and family care partners.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years.
  • Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
