Satellite Mechanisms Engineer

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Mechanical Engineer for Satellite Systems, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing the mechanisms that will enable our spacecraft to navigate the vastness of space.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing satellite mechanism systems that meet the stringent requirements of space travel.
- Conducting trade studies to identify the optimal configuration of mechanism assemblies and drive systems.
- Creating detailed CAD designs and conducting simulation analyses to ensure the reliability and performance of our spacecraft.
- Preparing and maintaining documentation of bill of materials, mass property models, and material lists.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 4+ years of experience in design, analysis, and spaceflight qualification of mechanisms and electro-mechanical systems.
- Advanced knowledge of rigid and flexible body dynamics and vibrations.
- Experience with having designs tested in support of flight qualification (Vibe, Shock, Thermals, T-Vac, Life).
