About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Assistant to join our team at Children's Wisconsin Surgery Center. As a Surgical Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in all aspects of assigned surgical procedures under the direct guidance of a physician.
  • Prepare for surgical procedures and assist the entire surgical team.
  • Assume all principal duties and responsibilities of a surgical technologist as assigned.
  • Assist with orientation of new personnel in scrubbing and assisting role.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program.
  • Knowledge of sterile procedure, instrument set up, and operating room procedures at a level acquired through successful completion of one year of coursework in an accredited Operating Room Assistants (Surgical Assistant) program.
  • Certified First Assistant credential preferred.
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time for up to 90% of work time and lift and move large pieces of equipment weighing up to 40 or 50 pounds.
  • Ability to rotate shifts and/or work flexible hours to meet patient care needs.
