Position Overview:
We are seeking a Customer Service Specialist to enhance our team. This role is pivotal in cultivating a sales and service-oriented environment by actively promoting all Credit Union products and services while effectively addressing member needs through various communication channels. The specialist will serve as a bridge between members and the credit union, offering guidance on financial matters and advocating for the credit union's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service in a secure, efficient, and precise manner to members and potential members who reach out through phone and electronic communication.
  • Process all member transactions, provide information about credit union policies and services, and clarify membership eligibility.
  • Assist in opening new accounts and executing other essential member service tasks while identifying additional needs and referring them to the appropriate resources.
  • Resolve member inquiries and issues by researching solutions and connecting them with the right resources.
  • Ensure member account security at all times by adhering to established security protocols.
  • Meet and comply with Member Service Standards and established policies and procedures.
  • Successfully complete Customer Service Skills training and achieve Member Connect Certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in a sales and/or customer service role, preferably within a credit union or financial institution.
Education:
  • High school diploma (or GED equivalent) is required. Coursework related to finance is advantageous.
Essential Skills:
  • Effective communication skills to interact professionally with members and colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to promptly address member requests while meeting processing deadlines.
  • Interpret and convey credit union policies and procedures to both members and non-members.
  • Identify and communicate suitable products and services comprehensively to meet all financial needs.
  • Collaborate positively and effectively with team members and various departments.
  • Proficient in using office equipment, basic computer applications, and data processing.
  • Manage time efficiently.
  • Adapt to and embrace changes in organizational processes and systems as necessary.
