Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive research on electronic platforms, including databases and repositories, to ascertain formulary status and prior authorization prerequisites for all medications.
  • Evaluate system modifications in preparation for deployment, documenting software issues, and communicating findings to software developers and relevant departments.
  • Engage in product design assessments to contribute insights on functional specifications, product designs, processes, or potential challenges.
  • Utilize foundational clinical knowledge to associate prior authorization forms accurately.
  • Develop cohesive question sets based on specific inquiries provided by payers.
  • Formulate cohesive question sets utilizing specific data supplied by clinical personnel.
  • Design workflows within proprietary systems.
  • Adhere to privacy and security protocols, along with applicable data and security regulations.
Qualifications
  • Understanding of prescription drug reimbursement, including insurance plan types, major medical benefits, and prior authorizations.
  • Basic knowledge of prescription medications, encompassing administration, route, dosage, form, and drug classifications.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, web-based applications, and typing skills.
  • Ability to adapt and learn swiftly, particularly in alignment with company and program policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the capacity to perform tasks repetitively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
  • Prior experience in Specialty Pharmacy or Managed Care with familiarity in specialty medications and prior authorizations.
