Job Title: Lead Design Associate - Entertainment Technology

At Royal Caribbean Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Design Associate - Entertainment Technology to join our team. As a key member of our Entertainment Technology department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of entertainment at sea.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage large-scale projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Entertainment, Cruise Programs, Product Development, and IT, to define entertainment systems requirements and specifications.
  • Work closely with shipyards, integrators, and key vendors to ensure technical requirements are well-defined and integrated into project scopes.
  • Liaise with the Marine Department to address entertainment needs and interface requirements for Local Entertainment Systems.
  • Coordinate with art providers on technical details for Audio Visual, Lighting, and specialized systems.
  • Assist in coordinating TV systems between New Building Designers, Architects, and Consultants.
  • Plan and execute projects, sharing best practices effectively between consultants, brand operations, system suppliers, and builders.
  • Help Manager to conduct market research to identify trends, disruptions, and emerging opportunities.
  • Network to build relationships in the A/V Industry.
  • Studies, collects, shares, compares, stores statistical information, and analyzes various ships and areas bringing forth observations.
  • Seek opportunities to further enhance SLVR high standards.
  • Serve as the point of contact for outside consultants, ensuring timely deliverables and adherence to processes.
  • Uphold quality management practices throughout all project phases.
  • Maintain existing Royal Caribbean Group Sound, Light, Video, Entertainment Rigging and automation high standards.
Financial Responsibilities:
  • Manages project spend up to $10 mil for revitalizations and $20 mil for newbuilds.
  • Develops Sound Light and rigging budgets and manages to delivery.
  • Develops Consultant fee budgets and manages to delivery.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:
  • Working knowledge of personal computers within a Windows environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Independent decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to think outside the box and provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills within a multicultural environment, amongst employees and management.
  • Detail-oriented problem-solving skills analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in managing and prioritizing expense budgets.
  • Extensive experience in operational success within the Cruise / Entertainment Industry.
  • Knowledge of quality management system requirements for cruise vessel operations.
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to manage budgets effectively and analyzing financial data.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Demonstrates exceptional verbal, written, and presentation abilities, coupled with adept public speaking skills.
  • Familiarity with current entertainment, recreation, and leisure trends.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and requirements for vessel operations using ISO.

  • The employee is occasionally required to walk to the dock, ascend and descend the vessel. This position may regularly travel domestically or internationally.
Visual requirement:
  • Distant, close and color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work environment:
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.
  • The environment includes work inside/outside the office, travel to other offices, possibly travel domestic and international, and work in shipboard functions.
  • A high noise level is possible if visiting shipboard or offsite locations.
Additional Details:
  • Flexibility in work schedule and location is essential for this role, as frequent travel will be required.
