Key Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient care to patients with mental health issues
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Conduct patient histories and physicals, risk factor assessments, and order diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and attend to consultations and appointments
- Consult with physicians on complex cases
- Document patient data and case presentations
- Develop and implement healthcare education programs for patients and families
- Ensure effective communication with other healthcare professionals
Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) and registration to practice psychiatry in NYS
- At least 5 years of experience in ambulatory or public health
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Bilingualism (Spanish) is preferred
- Computer literacy and knowledge of medical office practices
- Knowledge of problem-oriented record keeping and correct English usage
