Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Behavioral Health Department Director to lead our Behavioral Health Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in an integrated medical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Behavioral Health program, overseeing all aspects of program planning and coordination with other clinical areas.
  • Recruit, supervise, and evaluate the performance of clinical personnel.
  • Monitor patient utilization and behavioral staff productivity to ensure timely patient access to services and cost-efficient services.
  • Participate in external committees and workgroups to increase organization presence, obtain needed information, and enhance reputation.
  • Establish and coordinate services with Nassau University Medical Center to ensure clinical integration and continuity of care for patients.
  • Review clinical notes and maintain a panel of patients as duties allow.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulations pertaining to Behavioral Health Programs and review policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure evaluations and professional development plans are completed on time and provide staff with opportunities for internal and external training.
  • Oversee the Behavioral Health internship program and update job knowledge by participating in continuing educational opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum LCSW-R, Doctoral level degree in Psychology, Psychiatry, or related mental health field.
  • Licensed to practice in New York State.
  • At least 4 years of full-time paid experience in clinical management in an OMH Licensed or FQHC setting.
  • Experience in an integrated behavioral health model and NYS Art 28, 31, and 32 regulations.
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, Microsoft Office, and computer knowledge.
  • Cultural and linguistic sensitivity to populations served.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Reports to: CEO or designee.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $270,000 (varies based on license and experience).
