Administrative Support Specialist

Job Overview
The U.S. Department of the Interior is seeking dedicated individuals to join the Appraisal and Valuation Services Office. The selected candidates will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive administrative support across the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Business Services Office (BSO) to manage various budgetary and financial tasks, assisting in the formulation of budget forecasts and monitoring current fiscal activities.
- Assess and interpret administrative program needs, focusing on enhancing the precision and effectiveness of essential processes.
- Organize travel arrangements for supervisors and staff, including scheduling visits, securing accommodations, and maintaining communication with relevant parties.
- Act as the Receiving Official in the Financial Business Management System (FBMS) for valuation services, ensuring prompt issuance of purchase orders and overseeing ongoing contracts in coordination with AVSO contracting.
- Oversee the procurement of goods and services for the office, serving as a liaison for property management or acting as the designated property officer.
Employment Conditions
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Candidates must be suitable for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation.
- Direct Deposit of salary is required.
- Male applicants must register with the Selective Service, unless exempt.
Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-11 level, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, which includes skills in gathering information, analyzing issues, and formulating recommendations to address significant administrative challenges.
- B. A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in fields such as business administration or financial management.
- C. A combination of education and experience as described above.

Additional Information
Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through National Service programs and other organizations. All qualifying experience will be credited, including volunteer service.
