Job Overview

Position Summary
The Facilities Operations Supervisor plays a vital role in the effective management and upkeep of the Seeds of Excellence Christian Academy campus. This position is tasked with overseeing the maintenance of the facilities and grounds, which encompasses cleaning services, preventive maintenance, and landscaping. The Facilities Operations Supervisor collaborates closely with the Director of Operations and reports directly to them.

Key Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Maintain the school’s facilities and grounds, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Execute a variety of skilled maintenance tasks related to the institution:
  • Address plumbing, HVAC, minor repairs, and emergency situations.
  • Exhibit knowledge of OSHA standards, effective communication, and a strong work ethic.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of facility equipment, electrical systems, and safety protocols.
  • Assist faculty and administration with classroom and building repairs.
  • Support the organization of on-campus events and meetings.
  • Ensure the safety of the campus by securing the building at the end of each day.
  • Maintain cleanliness in entryways and parking areas.
  • Oversee the general upkeep of the facilities to ensure a safe environment.
  • Coordinate maintenance requests and manage work orders efficiently.
  • Keep an inventory of tools and supplies for maintenance and emergency readiness.
  • Ensure storage areas are organized and clean.
  • Perform safety inspections of playground equipment and wash outdoor windows periodically.
  • Prioritize outdoor beautification efforts on campus.
  • Implement a comprehensive safety program for facilities personnel.
  • Supervise and train maintenance and custodial staff, adjusting workloads as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain necessary records.
  • Manage relationships with third-party service providers.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and be available for on-call situations.
  • Submit supply requests to the Director of Operations and research cost-effective purchasing options.
  • Assist in managing construction and renovation projects.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and asset management.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the institution.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferred: Degree from a college or trade school.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • At least 2 years of experience in facilities management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Physical ability to lift and move items as needed.
