Ramp Supervisor

At Parsec, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ramp Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all ramp operations within our Intermodal terminal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the intermodal ramp, ensuring efficient and safe handling of containers, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Lead and mentor a team of ramp personnel, providing guidance, support, and training to enhance their performance and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices, promoting a culture of safety and conducting safety training sessions.
  • Coordinate and oversee regular maintenance and repair of ramp equipment, collaborating with maintenance teams to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
  • Efficiently allocate manpower, equipment, and resources to meet operational requirements, monitoring and adjusting staffing levels based on workload and demand fluctuations.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess ramp productivity, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures to meet or exceed performance targets.
  • Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate communication with customers regarding shipment status, delays, and any other relevant information.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in ramp operations within the intermodal transportation industry, with a proven track record of successfully leading teams and optimizing processes.
  • Strong understanding of intermodal ramp operations, including loading/unloading procedures, container handling, and equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and precision.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
