Job Title: Senior Associate, Network Engineering

This is a challenging role that requires a strong background in network design, implementation, and support. As a Senior Associate, Network Engineering, you will be responsible for supporting a team that performs network design and analysis, routing and switching configuration, and network-related business continuity approaches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the team in designing and implementing new network architectures and solutions
  • Develop systems specifications, technical implementation plans, and coordinate complex installation projects with clients and vendors
  • Support the team in designing and supporting new network and security architectures for on-premise and cloud networks
  • Work with vendors, common carriers, and network engineering to identify and resolve complex network problems
  • Ensure IT/Security Governance needs are met, including NIST-CSF and COBIT
  • Ensure network performance and security standards are met
  • Provide tactical and strategic input on overall network planning and related projects
  • Provide on-call support according to assigned schedule
  • Document network changes, policies, and procedures, and drawings
  • Support large projects and schedules
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Excellent presentation skills, including planning, material preparation, and public speaking
  • Demonstrated capability to tailor communications to the technical level of the audience
  • Clear, concise, and precise written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds
  • Negotiation skills, including listening and persuasion
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, project management, and mentoring skills
  • Strong ability to use a solution-oriented approach towards problem resolution
  • Ability to work independently and be a team player
Technical Skills and Background:
  • Experience directing the use of tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Python, and GitHub
  • Experience delivering infrastructure as code
  • Experience building cloud infrastructure in environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience using Agile Methodology
  • Knowledge of layer 3 routing and switching
  • Experience with IOS, NX-OS, and XR
  • Advanced experience with architecting, designing, deploying, and operating network elements such as DNS/IPAM, firewalls, network access control solutions, load balancing, DDoS mitigation, tapping/sniffing infrastructures, and NTP
  • Excellent physical communication troubleshooting skills using cabling and signaling analyzer, packet capture and analysis
  • Advanced WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, VPN, Ethernet skills
  • Extensive EIGRP, BGP4, RIP, and OSPF routing protocol knowledge
Certifications:
  • Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP or CCDP) equivalent field experience
  • AWS certifications such as DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, Advanced Networking, or Security or equivalent field experience
Education and Training:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.), or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of experience in IT systems installation, operations, administration, and maintenance of virtualized servers/cloud systems
