Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and store food items for nourishing snacks and meals for children at our centers.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including refrigerators, ovens, cabinets, and other equipment, to meet Health Department and CACFP guidelines.
- Food Safety and Handling: Maintain and document hot and cold food at recommended temperatures, ensure food is properly stored and labeled, and clean dishes and kitchen while maintaining health and sanitation requirements.
- Menu Planning and Execution: Establish and follow a plan for a thorough periodic cleaning of cabinets, oven, refrigerator, and other equipment, and keep accurate records of food delivered and menus of meals and snacks served daily and of quantities served daily.
- Dietary Accommodations: Adjust menus or prepare special meals to meet dietary needs, as directed by the EC Manager in coordination with the Nutrition Coordinator.
- Confidentiality and Communication: Maintain confidentiality of children's information and communicate effectively with the EC Manager and Nutrition Coordinator.
- Supply Management: Inventory and request supplies as needed, requisition supplies, and help with necessary preparation for children's activities.
- Menu Posting and Family Engagement: Post changes to the menus so families are aware of food substitutions and assist with Family Activity events.
- Education: High school diploma or general equivalency education.
- Experience: Requires less than 12 months related experience.
- Physical Demands: The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move objects or materials up to 30 pounds.
