Job Summary

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking an Administrative Manager to support the Wisconsin Center for Origins Research (WiCOR). This is a unique opportunity to join a newly created multidisciplinary research center focused on the origins of life in the universe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the center, including administrative support, project management, and event coordination.
  • Develop and implement operational services to support the center's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with researchers and staff to identify workflow needs and develop strategic solutions.
  • Lead the development and preparation of periodic reports and financial statements.
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
  • Develop and maintain the center's website, social media presence, and digital and print collateral.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a complex administrative role or minimum 2 years of program administration/management experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with numerous stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A scientific background and/or awareness relevant to WiCOR's mission.
  • Direct support of a unit director or similar position.
  • Event coordination and/or management experience.
  • Professional marketing and/or communications experience.
  • Donor stewardship experience.
