About the Role

This travel nursing position offers the opportunity to work in an Acute Care Psychiatric setting, providing comprehensive care to patients with complex mental health needs. As a psychiatric nurse specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with behavioral challenges. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities as a psychiatric nurse specialist will include:

  • ">
  • Assessing the mental health status of patients with behavioral challenges.">
  • Collaborating with medical providers and mental health staff in the design and delivery of patient care.">
  • Administering and monitoring the effectiveness and side effects of psychotropic medications.">
  • Assisting patients and families in interpreting and managing maladaptive behaviors and planning healthy lifestyle changes.">
  • Exercising balanced judgment in evaluation situations and making decisions to handle difficult or confrontational situations professionally.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • ">
  • A current RN license.">
  • A degree from an accredited nursing program.">
  • Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Psychiatric setting.">
  • BLS certifications.">
  • Other requirements determined by our client facility.">

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $4,000 per week, based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week, subject to confirmation. This figure includes a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
