Position Overview :
Pacific Shipyards is in search of individuals with experience in retail and parts counter operations to join our team in managing internal consumables and specialized tool rental services. The Ship Store Associate is responsible for providing essential tools, equipment, and supplies to various trades within the organization and subcontractors, while also overseeing inventory management and restocking of necessary items for the store. This role requires meticulous tracking of tool locations and ensuring adequate resources are available for construction activities.

- Responsible for fulfilling job duties as assigned by management.

- Engage in regular communication with Officers, Managers, and Supervisors regarding departmental issues.
- Punctuality for work, meetings, and deadlines is essential.
- Keep assigned work areas clean and organized.
- Ensure the safety and proper maintenance of all assigned equipment.
- Perform all tasks in accordance with safety and security standards.
- Meet productivity and quality benchmarks set by management.
- Maintain precise records of incoming and outgoing supplies, tools, and equipment using the POS system.
- Distribute tools and supplies, including mechanical, structural, and laborer tools, to various trades.
- Restock supplies within the store.
- Inspect and repair tools as necessary.
- Keep the store and warehouse areas clean.
- Undertake additional duties as required.
- Strong oral communication skills are required to effectively interact with clients, employees, management, and vendors.
- Ability to collaborate with others with minimal supervision and work effectively as part of a team.
- Must maintain a courteous, efficient, and professional demeanor, even in high-pressure situations.
- Capable of working under pressure, solving problems, and prioritizing tasks.
- Attention to detail and alertness are essential.
- Ability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions and procedures.
- Must be knowledgeable of safety regulations and company practices in the ship repair industry.
- Ability to comply with NAVSEA standards and regulations.
- Duties may require analysis, judgment, and discretion.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States is mandatory.
- This position requires U.S. Citizenship due to security clearance for base access.
- Successful acquisition of a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) is necessary.
- Must obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential for access to federally controlled work sites.
- Candidates must pass a post-offer drug screening and background check prior to employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a store associate or in a warehouse setting.
- Experience in a maritime or industrial retail environment is preferred.
- Valid State Driver's license in good standing is required.
- Open availability is necessary, including potential overtime based on project needs.
- The replenishment process involves:
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Climbing ladders.
- Handling and moving gas cylinders.
