Position Overview:

This role is based at our JW Williams facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret specifications or blueprints to ascertain the necessary materials and their dimensions.
  • Secure aligned structural steel components for permanent attachment through riveting, bolting, or welding.
  • Utilize hoisting equipment to lift and position structural steel elements accurately.
  • Operate metal shears, torches, or welding apparatus to cut, bend, or weld steel materials.
  • Adjust steel components into final positions using various tools and equipment.
  • Prepare and rig hoisting equipment to facilitate the movement of heavy materials.
  • Fabricate metal structures, including frames, columns, and beams, following blueprints or supervisor instructions.
  • Disassemble structures or machinery as required.
  • Execute welding tasks on separators, glycol absorbers, and large vessels, ensuring high-quality x-ray welds consistently.
  • Perform welding on low-pressure components such as heaters and glycol coolers.
  • Position and secure parts according to specifications using precision measuring tools.
  • Conduct welding using various techniques and equipment.
  • Maintain and repair equipment, including valves and tank linings.
  • Evaluate weld quality through rigorous testing and inspections.
  • Inspect and refine workpieces to meet quality standards.
  • Perform welding in various positions as required.
  • Engage in pipe fitting tasks as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and precision in welding tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints effectively.
  • Skilled in identifying defects in welds and structural issues.
  • Knowledge of necessary tools and equipment for welding tasks.
  • Experience in conducting quality evaluations and inspections.
  • Proficient in performing routine maintenance on welding equipment.
  • Understanding of metal properties and welding techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and practices in the welding trade.
  • Competence in selecting appropriate tools and equipment for tasks.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of welding experience.
  • Ability to pass a welding assessment screening.

**Salary is negotiable based on experience**
