Position Summary

Proof of the Pudding (POP) is renowned for its exceptional catering services, providing top-notch provisions for various events, including conferences, meetings, exhibitions, and special occasions at the Douglasville Conference Center. This venue boasts diverse event spaces, accommodating both large and intimate gatherings. As the exclusive catering partner, POP ensures that every event, from corporate meetings to elegant weddings, is executed flawlessly.

We are currently seeking skilled and professional Banquet Servers to enhance our service team. The ideal candidates will be organized, knowledgeable, and dedicated to delivering an outstanding experience to our clients and their guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up tables according to specified layouts and examples.
  • Prepare buffet stations, including decorative elements.
  • Serve and clear food and beverages efficiently and courteously, adhering to proper techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area and collaborate with the banquet captain to ensure excellent service.
  • Manage time effectively during events.
  • Assist in inventory management and the setup and breakdown of events.
  • Report to the Banquet Captain and undertake tasks to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Uphold high standards of personal grooming and hygiene.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in banquet or front-of-house roles.
  • Preferred experience in high-volume catering environments.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong listening and communication abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Attention to detail and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment

This role involves active participation in event preparation, setup, and breakdown, primarily within the Douglasville Conference Center, with potential travel to other venues.

Uniform Standards

Compliance with the company’s uniform policy as outlined in the Associate Handbook is required.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and navigate through event spaces.
  • Capable of bending, lifting, and carrying various items, including equipment and food.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 30 lbs.
