Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Specialist to join our team at the State of Maine, Bureau of Human Resources. As an Occupational Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for employees across the state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site consultations and trainings to various industries to identify and mitigate occupational health hazards.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate environmental health hazards and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other field staff to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Develop and present training programs to educate others on OSHA standards and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Toxicology, Chemistry, or related science.
  • Two years of specialized experience in a chemical, environmental, or related industrial hygiene field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
