Radiation Effects Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Effects Engineer (GBSD) Sr. Staff to join our team at Northrop Grumman Defense Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing systems that operate in extremely hostile environments, guiding and mentoring a team of engineers in nuclear weapon effects modeling and parts/equipment testing, and performing radiation effects circuit analyses.
Key Responsibilities- Design systems that operate in extremely hostile environments
- Guide and mentor a team of engineers in nuclear weapon effects modeling and parts/equipment testing
- Perform radiation effects circuit analyses, including TREE, SGEMP, and EMP
- Strong knowledge of radiation transport modeling and simulation, as well as radiation transport testing, including x-ray thermal shock testing
- Strong experience in performing total dose (TD), dose rate (DR), neutron displacement damage (NDD), and single event effect (SEE) heavy ion testing
- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field from an accredited university
- Minimum 14 years of experience or 12 years with a Master's degree, 9 years with a PhD
- 10+ years of experience in modeling and testing with respect to radiation effects
- 8+ years of experience in nuclear weapon effects modeling and parts/equipment testing
- Active DoD Secret clearance with investigation in the last 6 years
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
- Weapon System Experience (Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience)
- MBSE Experience
- Strong familiarity with MIL-STD-1766
