Radiation Effects Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Staff Systems Engineer to join our team in Roy, Utah. As a key member of our Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program, you will be responsible for designing systems that operate in extremely hostile environments, utilizing your expertise in radiation effects modeling and testing.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and mentor a team of engineers in nuclear weapon effects modeling and parts/equipment testing
- Develop and implement radiation transport modeling and simulation techniques
- Conduct x-ray thermal shock testing and other radiation effects testing
- Perform total dose, dose rate, neutron displacement damage, and single event effect heavy ion testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate radiation effects into system design
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited university
- Minimum 14 years of experience in modeling and testing with respect to radiation effects
- 8+ years of experience in nuclear weapon effects modeling and parts/equipment testing
- Active DoD Secret clearance with investigation in the last 6 years
- Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
- Weapon system experience (Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience)
- MBSE experience
- Strong familiarity with MIL-STD-1766
- Active Top Secret clearance
