Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Registration Specialist to join our team at St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston, Texas.

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Position:

This role involves coordinating patient registration, ensuring accurate demographic and financial information, and communicating with clinical departments. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of registration or comparable work experience and a high school diploma or GED.

  • Utilize registration systems to document important information related to the registration process, insurance verification, pre-cert, and upfront collection activities.
  • Meet/exceed performance standards for customer service, registration turn-around-times, productivity, and upfront collection goals.
  • Communicate with hospital case management to ensure timely provision of clinical detail to payers.
Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Obtaining and recording applicable demographic and financial information from patients.
  • Ensuring insurance eligibility and performing pre-certification/authorization as needed.
  • Calculating and collecting patient portion at the point of service.
