We are seeking a skilled Patient Registration Coordinator to join our team at Houston Methodist.

About the Role

As a Patient Registration Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient registration and pre-service collections processes for ancillary, diagnostic, and surgical services. Your exceptional communication skills and attention to detail will enable you to confirm and enter pertinent demographic and insurance information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with ease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Confirm patient demographics and insurance information via phone, mail, or email
  • Collect and process patient payments, extending payment plans as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations and maintain accurate records
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to requests from patients, staff, and physicians
  • Utilize safety protocols to properly identify patients and ensure correct patient identifiers are noted in the account and all printed material
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
  • One year of experience in healthcare, preferably in patient registration or a related field
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record software (EPIC preferred)
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care reimbursement methodologies
