JOB SUMMARY

This role collaborates closely with the Business Banking division and product associates to assess the financial health of individuals and/or enterprises seeking credit. The Financial Credit Analyst aids the Business Banker, Chief Banking Officer, and Credit Administration Manager in crafting loan presentations. Additionally, this position is tasked with the continuous oversight and risk management of a designated portfolio.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluates the applicant's business strategy, financial condition, repayment capacity, net worth, and earnings history for new, renewal, and existing loans, assigning suitable loan quality classifications, and collaborating with a Business Banker.
  • Identifies critical risk elements and mitigative factors associated with specific transactions and their assigned portfolio.
  • Forms a comprehensive and balanced perspective on the business, financial, and competitive risks encountered by a company, sector, and industry.
  • Analyzes financial data and prepares reports for Business Bankers and other departments upon request.
  • Supports the credit underwriting system, including annual assessments, covenant evaluations, reporting, and document management.
  • Reviews appraisals and other external reports to determine collateral values and spot potential risks in specific transactions.
  • Maintains commercial financial credit records, emphasizing the prompt and precise filing of financial data and due diligence materials.
  • Offers technical guidance and support to Business Bankers, Chief Business Banking Officer, Loan Review staff, and other key roles as required.
  • Updates the financial information tracking system, ensuring timely and accurate updates of various financial data.
  • Engages in customer due diligence discussions as necessary and attends client/bank meetings to enhance understanding of the company, collateral, and management assessment.
  • Completes additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, which support the essential functions of the role but may be modified based on individual circumstances.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (accounting/finance/economics) or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate and Commercial & Industrial credit/lending preferred.
  • Completion of a significant corporate bank credit training program is preferred.
  • Experience in credit, structuring, and marketing.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with business banking procedures of financial institutions.
  • Proficiency in computer software, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with credit underwriting platforms.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze credit information.
  • Project management skills with the capability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently.
