This role collaborates closely with the Business Banking division and product specialists to assess the financial health of individuals and/or enterprises seeking credit. The Financial Credit Analyst aids the Business Banker, Chief Banking Officer, and Credit Administration Manager in crafting loan presentations. Additionally, this position entails the continuous oversight and risk management of a designated portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluates the applicant's business strategy, financial condition, repayment capacity, net worth, and earnings history for new, renewal, and existing loans, assigning suitable loan quality classifications, and summarizing findings in a loan presentation alongside a Business Banker.
  • Identifies significant risk factors and mitigants pertinent to specific transactions and their assigned portfolio.
  • Develops a comprehensive and balanced perspective on the business, financial, and competitive risks encountered by a company, sector, and industry.
  • Analyzes financial data and generates reports for Business Bankers and other departments upon request.
  • Assists with the credit underwriting process, including but not limited to annual assessments, covenant evaluations, reporting, and document management.
  • Reviews appraisals and other third-party evaluations to determine collateral values and pinpoint potential risks in transactions.
  • Maintains commercial financial credit records, emphasizing the timely and precise filing of financial information and due diligence documentation.
  • Provides expert guidance and support to Business Bankers, Chief Business Banking Officer, Loan Review personnel, and other key roles as necessary.
  • Maintains the financial information tracking system, ensuring timely and accurate updates of various financial data.
  • Engages in customer due diligence discussions as required, attending client/bank meetings to gain a deeper understanding of the company, collateral, and management.
  • Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, which support the essential functions of the role but may be adjusted based on individual circumstances.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (accounting/finance/economics) or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate and Commercial & Industrial credit/lending preferred.
  • Completion of a comprehensive corporate bank credit training program preferred.
  • Experience in credit, structuring, and marketing.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with business banking protocols of financial institutions.
  • Proficiency in computer software, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Expertise in the credit underwriting platform.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze credit information effectively.
  • Project management skills with the capability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently.
