Role Summary:
We are in search of a seasoned Senior Reliability Engineer specializing in High-Voltage Battery and Cells to join our Powertrain Reliability team. This position encompasses the entire reliability lifecycle of HV Battery & Cells, from initial concept through design, development, manufacturing, and field operations, ensuring exceptional reliability at every phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate usage and environmental conditions to establish reliability requirements and targets for Battery Systems, sub-assemblies, and components.
- Develop and assess design verification test plans, ensuring comprehensive evaluation of environmental stress weaknesses in design and processes.
- Conduct statistical analyses of warranty and test data to derive system and sub-system reliability metrics using tools such as JMP, Weibull, and Minitab.
- Identify risks and collaborate with design and cross-functional teams to enhance reliability.
- Lead failure analysis efforts to uncover root causes and implement solutions.
- Investigate failure mechanisms and apply findings to testing methodologies to accurately reflect field behaviors.
- Correlate test results with field failures to identify gaps in testing specifications.
- Address complex inquiries regarding fleet usage and behavior to facilitate proactive health monitoring and minimize field failures.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of high-voltage battery failure modes and effects.
- Advanced mathematical and data analysis skills.
- Experience with high-voltage, high-current systems, including power supplies and batteries.
- Knowledge of applied statistics and reliability statistics, including Weibull distribution and Monte Carlo analysis.
- Hands-on experience with testing equipment and methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to initiate and take ownership of projects independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 3 years of reliability engineering experience in the battery sector.
- In-depth knowledge of high-voltage battery technology and failure physics.
- Proven success in resolving cell, module, and pack-level failures.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Grafana and Tableau.
- Experience with project management tools like Atlassian, Jira, and Confluence.
- Ability to perform teardowns and postmortem analyses of EV batteries at the module and pack levels.
- History of working autonomously with minimal oversight.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field is required; a Master's degree or PhD is preferred.

The salary range for this position is competitive and reflective of the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
