Join Lucid Motors as a Senior Engineer, Closures Structures

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer, Closures Structures to join our team at Lucid Motors. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the design and development of automotive closures structural parts and assemblies, including hoods, front and rear side doors, decklids, and tailgates. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive closures systems and sub-systems at an OEM or supplier.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automotive closures structural parts and assemblies, including hoods, front and rear side doors, decklids, and tailgates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to integrate multiple systems in the most efficient way possible.
  • Work closely with other stakeholders, including vehicle safety, vehicle dynamics, NVH, durability, manufacturing, and attribute owners to create world-class designs.
  • Perform benchmarking activities to understand the competitiveness of designs.
  • Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for designs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive closures systems and sub-systems at an OEM or supplier.
  • Proven track record of successful system-level integration.
  • Experience working with Class A surface data.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD skills, with experience in CATIA V5/V6 or similar software.
  • Hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly and production assembly.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

We offer a competitive salary range of $133,400-$200,200 USD, plus additional compensation and benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
