About the Role

Transdev is seeking a skilled Mechanic - Transit Vehicle Maintenance to join our team in Dallas, TX. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of our transit vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on transit vehicles to ensure compliance with Transdev standards
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues with transit vehicles and related equipment
  • Upgrade and modify coach systems, road calls, and on-the-road repairs as needed
  • Coach and monitor team members on the work team
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Maintenance experience with all types of transit buses
  • Commercial Driving License obtained within a 2-year period
  • Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to read, interpret safety documents, blueprints, schematics, and other mechanical diagrams
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination, including a background and drug test
Physical Requirements

Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reach with hands or arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to sit.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; and smell.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold and in a damp environment with moderate noise.
  • May be exposed to water, fumes, and chemicals.
