We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rail Vehicle Technician to join our team at Dallas Area Rapid Transit. As a key member of our Rail Fleet Maintenance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our rail vehicles, ensuring they are safe and reliable for our passengers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on rail vehicles, including propulsion, brakes, trucks, and electrical systems.
- Assist in the overhaul and rebuild of rail vehicle systems, including brake actuators, valves, and air conditioning compressors.
- Operate and maintain rail vehicles, including Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) and streetcars.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure that all rail vehicles are properly maintained and meet safety standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
- One year of experience in a related field, such as rail vehicle maintenance or repair.
- Ability to pass a technical test and obtain certification in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Valid Class C Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in a variety of environments, including crowded and tight spaces.
This position requires working in an environment where there is exposure to dust, noise, and temperature. The incumbent must be able to work in a safe and efficient manner, following all policies and procedures, safety precautions, and regulations.
