Job Summary:

Atrium Health seeks a highly skilled Medical Records Coordinator to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of patient information. Key responsibilities include maintaining release logs, processing requests, and serving as a resource for hospital departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Compare signatures of requestors with those on file.
  2. Maintain release logs of all PHI requests.
  3. Process requests to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of information.
  4. Ensure the accuracy and uniformity of the requestor database.
  5. Serve as a resource for other hospital departments and facilities.

Physical Requirements:

The majority of the day is spent sitting at a desk, with some standing to print, copy, and fax records. Bending, stooping, stretching, and walking are necessary when pulling charts.

Education and Experience:

A High School Diploma or GED is required, with medical records and medical terminology experience preferred.
