Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team at Advocates. As a Caregiver, you will provide non-medical care and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities, including Autism and intellectual disabilities.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting individuals with daily living activities, such as meals and personal care
  • Completing light housekeeping tasks and assisting with shopping and planning
  • Accompanying individuals on walks, to the gym, and to social and recreational activities
  • Assisting with hobbies and leisure activities
  • Maintaining current progress and service notes and submitting all required documentation to Supervisor

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience in providing companion or caregiving to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and access to an operational and insured vehicle
