Overview:
Salem Media Group's rapidly expanding Salem News Channel is in search of a Broadcast Studio Technician to support studio and field productions in our New York City office.
The Broadcast Studio Technician will play a crucial role in supporting our network programs by managing and operating studio equipment, editing content for broadcast, and providing assistance to on-air talent as required.
Our NYC studio operates primarily in the afternoons and evenings, so candidates must be flexible to accommodate this schedule.
The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with a strong affinity for video production, capable of maintaining composure and performing effectively in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include powering studio monitors and equipment, performing necessary software updates and maintenance, setting up and transitioning sets between programs, establishing video connections to control rooms, adjusting robotic cameras, preparing microphones and IFB units for talent, editing and uploading news segments for broadcast, assisting news anchors with on-the-ground interviews, and providing support to talent during production as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience with video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro is required.
Strong organizational skills are essential.
Excellent communication abilities are necessary.
Must be willing to collaborate directly with show hosts and talent.
Able to meet tight deadlines and quick turnaround times.
Editorial skills are advantageous for editing shows and clips for social media.
Flexibility in scheduling is required, as hours will vary based on the specific program being produced.
A foundational understanding of production systems, including video switchers, routing equipment, wireless microphones, IFB systems, communication devices, robotic cameras, playback systems, studio lighting, and teleprompters is important.
Proficiency in lighting and shooting techniques, both in studio and on location.
Ability to swiftly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
