Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled Project Accountant to join our Project Accounting team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial integrity of assigned projects throughout their life cycle, from initial due diligence to client invoicing and collections.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish new projects in the accounting system, including setting billing terms.
  • Oversee the complete billing cycle for assigned projects, ensuring efficiency and accuracy to minimize billing and collections cycle times.
  • Engage directly with clients to deliver exceptional service, addressing their needs and providing effective solutions.
  • Resolve all billing-related issues, including necessary invoice corrections.
  • Monitor project financial performance on a monthly basis, collaborating closely with project managers as required.
  • Maintain and track project-specific budgets and provide ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Coordinate collection efforts and address aged Work In Progress (WIP).
  • Participate in project review calls.
  • Assist with month-end revenue reviews as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Collections, Payables, and General Ledger teams to resolve project-related issues.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in project accounting or billing, preferably within the engineering or architecture sectors.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in the engineering or architecture industry.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Vision billing software is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail in preparing and reviewing billing for accuracy.
