Classroom Educator

Eckerd Connects is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Classroom Educator to join our team at the Boys Residential Academy in Yanceyville, NC. As a Classroom Educator, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality educational services to our students, helping them to achieve their full potential and develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in life.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students, taking into account their unique needs and learning styles.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in a variety of subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, and science.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly, using a range of assessment tools and strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and instructional programs that meet the needs of all students.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and involve them in the educational process.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in education and to enhance your own skills and knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field, with a focus on special education or a related area.
- State certification in special education or a related area, with a preference for certification in multiple subjects.
- At least two years of experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a residential or therapeutic setting.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a flexible and positive attitude.
