Position Overview:

This role is designed for the upcoming academic year.

Compensation:

Certified Educators begin at $76,000* while Non-Certified Educators start at $68,000*.

*The certified starting salary includes a $5,000 hiring incentive for Certified Math Teachers. All starting salaries incorporate a $5,000 hiring incentive from Liberty County, a $2,000 STAAR Teacher Stipend, and a $5,000 Late Hiring Bonus.

Core Responsibilities:

The primary objective is to deliver suitable educational activities and experiences in the designated core academic subject area, assisting students in realizing their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. This role aims to equip students with the necessary competencies and skills to thrive in society.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

A valid teaching certificate in Texas with necessary endorsements or training for the assigned subject and level is preferred.

Proven proficiency in the assigned core academic subject area.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Understanding of the assigned core academic subject.

Familiarity with curriculum and instructional methodologies.

Ability to effectively instruct students and manage their behavior.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

Experience:

Preferred one year of student teaching or an approved internship.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Strategies:

1. Create and execute lesson plans that meet the district's curriculum requirements, providing written evidence of preparation as necessary. Design lessons that accommodate individual student differences.

2. Select and utilize appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of assigned students, adhering to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.

3. Assess student learning styles and utilize results to tailor instructional activities.

4. Collaborate with special education teachers to adapt curricula as needed for students with special needs according to Individual Education Plans (IEP).

5. Work alongside other staff members to establish instructional goals, objectives, and methods in accordance with district requirements.

6. Plan and delegate tasks to instructional aides and volunteers, overseeing their completion.

Student Growth and Development:

7. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through both formal and informal testing.

8. Take responsibility for assigned extracurricular activities and sponsor approved outside activities.

9. Serve as a positive role model for students, supporting the mission of the school district.

Classroom Management and Organization:

10. Establish a classroom environment conducive to learning, suitable for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.

11. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.

12. Take necessary precautions to safeguard students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

13. Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.

14. Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and documents.

Communication:

15. Foster and maintain professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.

Professional Growth and Development:

16. Engage in staff development activities to enhance job-related skills.

17. Adhere to state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom educators.

18. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

19. Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversee the work of assigned instructional aides.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment.

Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting.

Motion: Frequent walking.

Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment.

Environment: Work primarily indoors, with potential outdoor activities; regular exposure to noise.

Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours.
