Position Overview:

This role is designed for the academic year, focusing on delivering high-quality education in mathematics.

Compensation:

Certified educators will receive a starting salary of $76,000*, while non-certified educators will start at $68,000*.

*Note: The certified starting salary includes a $5,000 hiring incentive for certified Math Teachers. All starting salaries also include a $5,000 incentive from Liberty County, a $2,000 STAAR Teacher Stipend, and a $5,000 Late Hiring Bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Mathematics Educator, you will:

  1. Design and execute lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum, ensuring that all preparations are documented.
  2. Utilize diverse instructional strategies and materials that cater to the varied learning styles of students.
  3. Assess student learning styles and adapt instructional activities accordingly.
  4. Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula for students with Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  5. Engage with fellow educators to establish instructional goals and methods that meet district standards.
  6. Oversee the work of instructional aides and volunteers.

Student Development:

  1. Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress through various testing methods.
  2. Participate in extracurricular activities as assigned and support school initiatives.
  3. Serve as a positive role model, promoting the mission of the educational institution.

Classroom Management:

  1. Create a conducive learning environment that supports the physical, social, and emotional growth of students.
  2. Manage student behavior in line with established conduct codes.
  3. Ensure the safety of students and the integrity of educational materials.
  4. Assist in the selection of instructional resources.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.

Communication:

  1. Foster professional relationships and maintain open lines of communication with parents, students, and colleagues.

Professional Development:

  1. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills.
  2. Adhere to all relevant regulations and policies.
  3. Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to staff committees as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Supervisory Role:
