Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Corporate Controller and is a full-time, hybrid role based in Mansfield, MA. We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Senior Accountant to enhance our finance team. This role is crucial for maintaining the precision and reliability of our financial documentation, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and internal policies, while also fostering continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ledger Management:
Oversee A/R and A/P sub-ledgers, ensuring accurate retrieval of source documents, validation, and reconciliation with posted transactions. - Journal Entries and Reconciliations:
Prepare and document monthly journal entries while maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and addressing any discrepancies promptly. - Financial Analysis:
Conduct thorough analyses of financial statements, identifying variances and tracking key metrics to support ongoing improvement efforts. - Tax Compliance:
Manage all facets of sales and use tax, including the preparation and submission of returns. - Financial Reporting:
Generate ad hoc financial analyses and reports utilizing Excel and other analytical tools, ensuring accurate accounting of vendor rebate income and corporate-level accounts. - Collaboration:
Work collaboratively across departments and with counterparts in other divisions to achieve shared objectives, while regularly engaging with management, auditors, and external stakeholders.
Required Competencies:
Candidates should possess a robust understanding of accounting principles, strong mathematical skills for account reconciliation, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting. An analytical mindset and attention to detail are critical for identifying potential errors and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required, along with 4 to 6 years of relevant accounting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including Pivot tables and VLookup), is necessary, as is experience with various ERP systems. While a CPA designation is preferred, it is not mandatory. Candidates must also be able to pass a background check post-offer acceptance.

The salary range for this position is reflective of the national average and will be adjusted based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
