Document Control Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Document Controls Administrator to join our team at CMTS in Columbus, OH. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing, quality checking, filing, and retrieving electronic engineering and construction-related documents. You will also process documents on incoming and outgoing transmittals, review and/or quality check technical reports, specifications, drawings, and other documents, and work with multiple contractors, project team members, and project management to control, distribute, maintain, and retrieve project-related documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, quality check, file, and retrieve electronic engineering and construction-related documents
  • Process documents on incoming and outgoing transmittals
  • Review and/or quality check technical reports, specifications, drawings, and other documents
  • Identify and use the correct tools, systems, and techniques to index, file, and control documentation
  • Work with multiple contractors, project team members, and project management with the control, distribution, maintenance, and retrieval of project-related documents
  • Ability to review documents for proper distribution based upon discipline and type of document (ie. Understanding of submittals Requests for Information, mechanical, electrical, and civil documents)
  • Work proactively to resolve issues and mitigate risks
  • Support other team members and the client in document control procedures

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of full-cycle electronic document control experience, including project close-out
  • Engineering consulting or construction industry experience preferred
  • Working experience with electronic document management software and systems
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office suite such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, IPro, and SharePoint
  • Effective collaboration and facilitation skills; this is a team-based environment with interaction among team members and the client
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and maintaining and distributing the project document for the project teams which may include the Client, Architect, Contractors, Engineers, and Airline representatives.
  • Ability to remain flexible when dealing with changing client requirements
