Job Summary

The Associate Dean for Medical Student Research at InsideHigherEd is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of research opportunities for medical students across multiple campuses. This role is essential in fostering an atmosphere that encourages innovation, critical thinking, and academic excellence among medical and MD/PhD students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research programs for medical students, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with regional campus leadership, faculty, and staff to provide research opportunities throughout all campuses.
  • Supervise directors and staff involved in designing and managing research programs.
  • Assume a key leadership position in the MD/PhD program, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure the success of students.
  • Report directly to the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Student Education, dedicating a minimum of 40 hours each week to fulfill the responsibilities tied to this role.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven track record of leadership and management experience in a higher education setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
