Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Institutional Research and Analytics to join our team. As a key member of our institution, you will be responsible for leading the Office of Institutional Research and Analytics, providing strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the effective use of data to inform decision-making and drive institutional improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive institutional research and analytics strategy that aligns with the institution's goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of researchers and analysts to collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision-making and drive institutional improvement.
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the effective use of data to inform decision-making and drive institutional improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to develop and implement data-driven solutions to institutional challenges.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective use of data to inform decision-making and drive institutional improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in institutional research and analytics.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as education, business, or public policy.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in institutional research and analytics, with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing data-driven solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as education, business, or public policy.
  • Experience in higher education, with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing data-driven solutions.
  • Certification in institutional research and analytics, such as the Certified Institutional Researcher (CIR) designation.
