Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician - Retrofit in GAC Savannah

Education and Experience Requirements
A High School Diploma or GED is essential. A minimum of 4 years in Aviation Maintenance is required, including 3 years of experience with mid to large-sized aircraft. Experience with corporate aircraft is preferred. A valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate is necessary. A valid Driver's License is also required. Position Purpose: To independently execute a range of aircraft modifications and maintenance tasks, including the removal and installation of airframes, landing gear, engine components, electrical systems, and control systems, ensuring adherence to established procedures, performance standards, and testing specifications.
Job Description
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Conduct required periodic maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems, demonstrating the ability to consistently complete assigned maintenance tasks within the standard CMP time.
- Provide guidance and direction for assigned technicians, promoting high-quality standards through instruction and exemplary conduct.
- Act in the capacity of Mechanical Team Lead (MTL) during their absence, assuming all associated duties and responsibilities.
- Collaborate with the Inspection department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation standards. Complete work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork promptly, ensuring all work meets quality specifications.
- Correctly identify and tag customer property and equipment, ensuring secure and safe storage of aircraft components and other customer assets.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) when operating ground support equipment, including power supplies, hydraulic rigs, nitrogen filler carts, and oxygen service carts. Supervise the use of specialized support equipment for major component removals and installations.
- Coordinate aircraft movements as necessary.
- Assist in training new employees on the computerized maintenance program (CMP), maintenance manuals, SRMs illustrated parts catalog (IPC) usage, flight test installations, and maintenance of major components.
- Work with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as required.
- Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand and charge labor to the appropriate work orders and item numbers.
- Implement 6S and Lean Initiatives to maintain cleanliness and organization in shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas. Properly collect and dispose of waste materials, including fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags.
- Apply Lean and continuous improvement processes across all areas of responsibility.
- Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment, returning items to designated storage areas after use.
- May involve flight tests on aircraft in support of certification and final phase testing as required.
Other Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems within each product line.
- In-depth understanding of relevant technical reference materials, including maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, and ADS.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, as well as company policies and procedures.
