Education and Experience Requirements

A High School Diploma or GED is essential. A minimum of 4 years in Aviation Maintenance is required, including 3 years of experience with mid to large-sized aircraft. Experience with corporate aircraft is preferred. A valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate is necessary. A valid Driver's License is also required. Position Purpose: To independently execute a range of aircraft modifications and maintenance tasks, including the removal and installation of airframes, landing gear, engine components, electrical systems, and control systems, ensuring adherence to established procedures, performance standards, and testing specifications.

Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Conduct scheduled maintenance and essential servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems, demonstrating the ability to consistently complete assigned maintenance tasks within the quoted or standard CMP time.
  2. Provide guidance and direction to assigned technicians, promoting high-quality standards through instruction and exemplary behavior.
  3. Act in the capacity of Mechanical Team Lead (MTL) during their absence, assuming all associated responsibilities.
  4. Collaborate with the Inspection department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation standards. Complete work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and related paperwork promptly, ensuring all work meets quality standards and specifications.
  5. Correctly identify and tag customer property and equipment, ensuring secure and safe storage of aircraft components and other customer assets.
  6. Adhere to standard operating procedures and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) when utilizing ground support equipment, including power supplies, hydraulic rigs, nitrogen filler carts, and oxygen service carts. Oversee the operation of specialized support equipment used in the removal and installation of major components.
  7. Coordinate the movement of aircraft as necessary.
  8. Assist in training new employees on the computerized maintenance program (CMP), maintenance manuals, SRMs illustrated parts catalog (IPC) usage, flight test installations, and maintenance of major components.
  9. Work with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as required.
Additional Functions:
  1. Utilize the material tracking system to generate parts demand and allocate labor to the appropriate work orders and item numbers.
  2. Implement 6S and Lean Initiatives to maintain cleanliness and organization in shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas. Properly manage the disposal of waste materials, including fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags.
  3. Apply Lean and continuous improvement processes across all areas of responsibility.
  4. Properly utilize and maintain company-provided tools and equipment, returning items to designated storage areas after use.
  5. In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include conducting flight tests on aircraft as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. In-depth knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems within each aircraft product line.
  2. Thorough understanding of relevant technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, etc.).
  3. Familiarity with FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.
