Position Overview
The selected candidate will take on the role of a Lead Personnel Psychologist within the Office of Human Resources, specifically in the Human Resources Research and Assessment Division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervising and approving the creation and validation of human resources assessment tools tailored for various examining requirements; ensuring the formulation of specialized tests.
  • Leading the implementation of innovative methodologies and business strategies aimed at evaluating and enhancing organizational practices, policies, and procedures to boost efficiency and ensure effective talent management through the development, validation, and execution of comprehensive HR assessment instruments.
  • Reviewing completed projects to ensure objectives are met, assessing the impact of advice on the overall program, distributing and balancing workloads among team members, and establishing technical milestones for various initiatives.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness, precision, and thoroughness of research methodologies, assessment development, validation processes, and the structural integrity of work related to item-type taxonomies, statistical adequacy, and test theories to tackle significant management challenges affecting agency personnel.

Salary: This Lead Personnel Psychologist position commences at a salary of $163,964 (GS-15 step 01), with potential growth up to $191,900 (GS-15 step 10).


Employment Conditions:
If selected for this role, the candidate will be required to:
  • Be a U.S. citizen.

  • Obtain and maintain a top-secret Tier 5 clearance.
  • Submit to a drug test prior to appointment and participate in random drug testing while in the position.

Qualifications:

Basic Education Requirement:
Completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited institution leading to a bachelor's or higher degree with a major in psychology or an equivalent field.

In addition to the basic education requirement, candidates must also possess specialized experience to qualify for the GS-15 level (starting salary $163,964), which includes:

  • Managing personnel, providing guidance, and overseeing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance, and adherence to policies and best practices in human capital assessment and development.
  • Directing the research, development, implementation, and management of effective human capital assessment and development tools.
  • Contributing to the creation of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality organizational and workforce solutions.
  • Executing best practices and services related to the management of assessment and talent development tools.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant professional guidelines.

Experience includes both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through National Service programs and other organizations. Volunteer experience is valuable and contributes to the competencies, knowledge, and skills applicable to paid employment.


Additional Information:
