The Kitchen Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in assisting the management team to foster a friendly, knowledgeable kitchen staff that consistently exceeds expectations. This position thrives in a fast-paced environment and encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including guest interaction, order expediting, and hands-on cooking. It serves as a stepping stone to management training, providing an excellent opportunity to deepen your culinary knowledge and advance your career.
Upon joining, you will receive training to deliver friendly, knowledgeable service that goes above and beyond. You will gain exposure to all kitchen stations and will be expected to understand our food standards to effectively coach and support your colleagues during shifts. Your contributions will be vital in a team-oriented service environment while assisting the Chef and Sous Chef.
Key Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
- Previous supervisory experience is a plus
- A minimum of 2 years in a kitchen or cooking role
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic mathematical skills
- Thorough knowledge of menu items, pricing, and quality standards
- Ability to maintain focus and perform tasks amidst interruptions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Team-oriented mindset
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily food receiving, storage, and preparation processes
- Document all food waste accurately
- Conduct nightly protein inventory counts
- Assist in weekly inventory assessments
- Ensure all food products adhere to company recipe specifications
- Maintain timing standards during food production
- Inspect and approve dishes prior to serving
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food temperatures and sanitation
- Engage in cooking as needed to support kitchen operations
- Consult with the manager on duty regarding business decisions impacting financial outcomes
- Complete assigned opening and closing duties
- Follow maintenance and cleaning schedules
- Communicate any relevant information regarding shift activities to management
