Key Responsibilities- Purchasing and Sourcing: Enter, update, and verify data information into various systems, review and verify data entered into database to ensure accuracy, and track documentation received and completion dates.
- Supply Chain Management: Assist and train employees and new data entry operators on software tools, provide assistance to technical staff to resolve computer and software problems, and process purchase orders and send copies to appropriate parties per manager's guidance.
- Inventory Management: Maintain and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists, track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders, and research and document information pertaining to organizational and governmental rules affecting purchases.
- Cost Reduction and Optimization: Participate in early participation with technical/engineering departments to suggest purchase products for cost reduction during new product development, define and run a best-cost-strategy for project level acquisitions, and support technical/engineering departments with requirements and specifications to improve products or to find cost reduction opportunities (value analysis optimization) without sacrificing product quality.
- Supplier Management: Establish robust and efficient supplier networks, optimize material group management and strategies, and create reports from IFS for procurement of Stainless Steel, Plastic, Rubber, Hardware, and foreign purchases.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering Discipline; Industrial Engineering preferred. May consider 8+ years of professional technical sourcing experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience: 2 or more years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing facility with field-tested experience in purchasing and supply chain management required.
- Skills: Strong negotiation skills, experience using IFS, SAP, or similar CAD programs, and knowledge of word processing, advanced spreadsheet, and database maintenance with a working knowledge of MS PowerPoint.
This job operates in a clerical, office setting with some exposure to warehouse and manufacturing shop elements. Moderate physical demand and regular attendance are required.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position with days and hours of work from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
